Privacy Policy
This document is up to date with the new rules resulting from Regulation No. 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council (GDPR) relating to the protection of personal data.
A privacy policy is a document that defines how the data of people browsing the site is collected and processed. People browsing the site are called "users".
This document completes the Terms of Service of a website.
How to use this document ?
In order to inform the user what is the fate reserved for his data, this privacy policy must contain several information.
First of all, it must explain how their data is collected and processed. personal data, for which purposes the processing and collection of the data serves (i.e., why the data is collected and processed).
Should be considered as personal data all data that can identify a user. These include the first and last name, age, postal address, email address, location of the user or his IP address.
This privacy policy shall state what are the user rights concerning these data (for example, the right of access to the data, the right to the deletion of their data, etc.), and what are the procedures to be followed in order to implement these rights.
The privacy policy must also inform the user of who is responsible for the processing of personal data collected and processed. This is the person who is responsible for determining the purposes and means used to process this data.
In the event that a Data Protection Officer has been appointed, it is necessary to indicate his identity directly in this document. The role of the Data Protection Officer is to ensure the proper implementation of the legal provisions concerning the collection and processing of personal data (he is sometimes called "DPO", for Data Protection Officer).
Finally, in the event that the site uses "cookie" files, the privacy policy must specify which "cookie" files are used. A "cookie" is a small file (less than 4 KB), stored by the site on the user's hard drive, containing information relating to the user's browsing habits.
Privacy Policy must be easily accessible to users on the site : it can appear during the first visit of the user, or directly at the bottom of the page on the website for example.
